The Tassie dirt – Autumn 07

The warm weather is behind us down on the apple isle but the non stop minibike action is still heating up. After our flat out run of backyard minibike races and the Braaap Tasmanian Minibike challenge over summer all the local’s have been flat stick play riding, practising and freestyling their mini’s this Autumn.

There is foam pits popping up left and right, flipping is the done thing and anyone with access to a bit of land and a shovel are giving their mothers fits through big gaps and knarly new tricks. How good are minibikes!!!

All the guys at Braaap have been flat stick organising places for people to ride and with at least 4 solid tracks in the North and plenty of bushland there is no excuse for sitting at home on the weekend! Seem’s every one is getting their mates in on the action, first timer’s, motocrosser,s BMXer’s, Skater’s there all having a crack at the 50 scene, how good is it to Braaap it up with all your mates  and to get new people into our sport. Its amazing how many people from different scene’s are passionante about mini’s!

The motard heads are excited as the ride days are swinging round once a month and the sport is growing. If you haven’t tried motard go and get some road tyres bolt em onto your mini and experience the peg scraping endless grip of a motard mini. Highclaire go cart track in Burnie is where this all goes down for Tassie Motard rider’s and call Braaap HQ for more details… Its an MA event but day license’s are available.

With not a great deal of racing happening over Autum many rider’s tend to stay local and ride with their mates, hit the trail’s, look for some piles of dirt to freeride or build up their own tracks and compounds. The small town mateship is awesome and down in Tassie 50 riders stick together and take pride in inviting other 50 rider’s to their track’s.

Keep braaaping
