KNEE LOOKING TO KEEP RIVALS AT BAY IN TASMANIAN SUPERLITE SERIES
Robbie Knee will be looking to extend his points lead when Round Four of the Tasmanian Superlite series gets underway at Wesley Vale near Devonport on Saturday, September 1st.
Knee, the current Australian Vintage Class Champion leads the 12 inch senior division men’s class by 18 points over Brad Smith, but he knows he still has plenty of work to do with three rounds remaining and a total of 75 points up for grabs.
Smith, the world number nine, has been finding it tough to crack Knee’s armour, but he will hold nothing back as he looks to halt the series leader’s three round domination.
Smith is 10 points ahead of the third placed Kyle Wooley, setting up a thrilling battle under lights.
Smith is on fire in the 10 inch senior class, leading the standings by 22 points over Wade Meers, and the braaap founder will start odds on favourite to win round four, while Mitchell McCreadie will be looking to close the 13 point gap to Meers for third place in the standings.
Newcomer Jess Allen has been one of the talking points of the season in the Senior Girls class, she’ll enter round three in hot form coming off victory in round two, but Cassie Brockhurst will hold nothing back as she tries to close the 22 point gap to the division leader.
Jarrad Ray holds a commanding 28 point lead in the Junior Boys class, after taking the spoils in Round Three.
Sharni Downey has all but sewn up the title in the Junior Girls division after snaring her second round win of the year, she currently leads Abbie Clark by 45 points with three rounds remaining, but the overall battle in the Demo Class is on in earnest, with Kayden Vella holding a slender 3 point lead over round three winner Billy Whitelaw.
Competitors will return to Wesley Vale, near Devonport under lights for round four of the braaap Tasmanian Superlite series on Saturday, September 1st from 3.30pm and will race until around 9pm (under lights) which provides a great spectacle.
